Hello to you all. We hope you enjoyed reading our motivational tips part 1. We are back with the 2nd part of the two blog series. Happy reading and adopting these handy suggestions in your own place of work.
Here are some more top tips on motivating your employees:
-
Experience new things together out of the office. Getting team members / staff to experience new things together is a novel way to reward employees, albeit in small teams if need be. It could be something like a visit to the museum of illusions in Delhi, a wine tasting tour in Nasik, River rafting on the river Ganges, or even a day in the spa. Such experiences are cherished and go a long way in motivation. As a reward for a successful project / target etc, experiences can be awarded that will be valued & cherished. Employees cherish experiences over gifts in cash etc. Experiential rewards foster a deep bond between staff and the firm enhancing the employee’s loyalty & motivation.
-
Keep snacks and drinks in the office to keep employees energised. If the company budget allows it, it’s good to provide the staff with drinks (tea or coffee, etc) as well as healthy snacks in the pantry area daily. By fuelling the employees, you keep them energetic and productive. This is what any company wants at the end of the day, right? So for motivating a team that is hungry or /and tired, snacks and drinks are ideal. Most Indian companies provide employees with hot beverages twice a day and some even invest in vending machines for the staff. Keep the stomachs full and retain the talent.
-
Get external speakers to lecture / talk on different subjects. Hire speakers on various topics / issues to come and give a talk on a particular topic (work related or otherwise). Such seminars, talks, and lectures are beneficial & motivational for all. It’s an excellent method to boost learning, cross-sharing, and community building. It could be a yogi imparting healthy tips, a mental health expert talking on stress and ways to reduce it, an industry expert talking on new developments in the industry, and so on.
-
Give team members the freedom to work and perform. No one likes to be micromanaged constantly. Allow your teams to work freely and independently. Let them grow wings, make mistakes, learn and thrive. It’s very important to create a congenial atmosphere that allows everyone to work without feeling the heat all the times.
-
Get to know each employee on a personal level and listen to them. Spend time with each person (especially new joiners) and listen to their stories & aspirations, qualities, negatives, and positives. In a diverse army in office, there is no one “size that fits a’’’ approach. Capitalise on the strength of each person and assign them roles that match them. If someone is an extrovert and has a pleasing personality, they can be tuned to work in the marketing / sales roles.
