MASTER YOUR FEELINGS
How are you doing today? How many of us ask this question to others and listen to their answers or empathize. We normally ask this question as a formality, a routine. Similarly, we are often asked this and give a bland “I am fine”. Of course, you may be fine or may not. Your emotional state of mind does have a huge bearing on your daily functioning, your life, your career, and your relationships. In this modern fast-paced world, emotional wellbeing and feelings are ignored and festering. We need to acknowledge our emotional state of mind as what we feel determines our course of the day, year, or life.
Processing grief, trauma, pain, anxiety, or procrastination may not feel good, but it does good. If you let feelings dominate your inner core and being, you will not progress in life, in any format, you will remain bitter, stagnant, or even depressed. Here we look at two ways where you can gain mastery over your feelings and put them in context so that you lead a stress-free life.
Keep a journal where you jot down your feelings and state of mind. Make a daily note of what stresses you out etc. Then designate a time for you to sit and review the list. Some of the stressors may seem immaterial in the large scope of things, and some which need your attention & action
Try to organize your day based on your feelings. If something stresses or upsets you, step back, take a break and come back to it. Or tackle it first head-on. It’s all person to person. No one mold fits all.
In the end, we need to remember there are some things in our control, and some are not. As well know, there is no point worrying over things we cannot control. Talk to someone, a loved one or a professional, turn to spirituality or meditation, take long walks in green areas, all help in mastering our upset/hurting/confused minds and put all feelings in context and give clarity.
Soon you will see seeds of change that you must nurture and bring to fruition for a happier, healthier you.
