CHOOSING THE RIGHT SALESFORCE PARTNER

Kavita Misra and her husband Chris run a private health care service in Upper New York. It is a successful company and has over 20 employees.  However, they felt something was amiss.  They were not exactly sure on what was that missing element to boost their organisation’s performance and fund utilisation. It was during a family dinner that her brother Gaurav, a banker in Singapore advised her to consider Salesforce, the world’s number 1 Customer  Relationship Management as a tool to fill in the gaps in the overall efficiency. Study the prospective partners: Selecting an implementation partner is a big task as there are many companies in your city offering these services. Study the companies’ websites and read up on data pertaining to client reviews, mission statements. Get referrals from others in the industries that are already using a vendor-partner.

Partnership level with salesforce – There are various levels of salesforce engagement such as   ISV, Appexchange, Reseller, etc. Get to know which level of partnership your shortlisted companies enjoy and how long they have been partners with salesforce. This will help you make the right decision.

Industry expertise – Look for companies that have experience in your specific industry. This will enable a faster and smoother implementation process. Alternatively, lookup partners whose client base is multi-faceted and span various domains. They have rich experience and offer good solutions to problems encountered.

Partner team composition – For the right partner, they should have experienced & trained professionals in adequate numbers and in all the spheres of the salesforce implementation process.

Salesforce certification – Check if the company has salesforce certifications which means that they have the knowledge and experience to handle your account well. Currently, there are five different certifications that Salesforce has on offer: Certified Salesforce Administrator, Certified Salesforce Developer, Certified Salesforce Advanced Administrator, Certified Salesforce Sales Cloud Consultant, and Certified Salesforce Service Cloud Consultant. The prospective partner should at least have both Administrator and Developer certifications.

Post-implementation services – Hand holding after the successful deployment of salesforce services is a critical aspect in your search for the right partner. Select a partner offering support services (on-site or off-site, 24x7, and so on) during and after the deployment. This separates the wheat from the chaff.
