Suggestions for an administrator working solo :

1. Formalize all processes. Treat your work with respect and professionalism even if you work alone or for a small company. Everything should be structured so that the company, the users of SF in it and you benefit.  Formalizing the processes helps in setting expectations and getting the data in the format needed by the administrator.

2. Keep on studying and upgrading skills, learning about the new developments in the industry. Personal development is the way forward. Learning is a continuous mode and keeps one sharp at all times in the journey of life.

3. Learn from the wider community. Get help, advice, solutions, etc. from the wider SF community through various platforms available such as The Salesforce trailblazer community and its various groups. Feel connected and empowered. The community is a great place to ask questions, get answers, and belong to a helpful community of professional soul mates.

Suggestions for an administrator working with a team :

1. Work or hire team members with diverse skills as compared to what you have. Diversity brings different experiences and skills to the table from which the company and a solo administrator benefits in the long run. Better decisions are enabled as it is based on a wider knowledge base and unique perspectives. 

2. Ensure your team works actively and collaborates with other teams/departments which results in multiple benefits to each team and the organization as a whole. Work together and help each other out. 

3. Be an active team player and motivate your team. Enable honest feedback and suggestions whether in meetings or via surveys or town halls or on one. Encourage ideas, solutions, thoughts to improve work, and let team members know that their opinions are valued. This way you retain talent, motivate them to do better, and find good solutions to issues & challenges.
